Easy Cake Recipes From Scratch

Ingrédients

1 (8 ounce) can white potatoes
2 ounces ( s ) unsweetened cake chocolate , chopped
1 1/ 2 cup ( s ) all-purpose flour
2teaspoon ( s ) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ( s ) kosher salt
1/2 cup ( s ) ( 1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/ 4 cup ( s ) brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup ( s ) whole milk
Icing sugar , to serve
Whipped cream , to serve


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 - by springform pan with cooking spray 2 inches. Line the bottom with parchment ; spray paper . Pierce Chocolate potatoes several times and microwave on high intensity until tender , 4 to 5 minutes. Wrap in foil and set aside .
Melt cake chocolate according to package directions . In a large bowl , mix flour, baking powder , salt and set aside. Remove and discard the skin of the Chocolate potato. In a small bowl , mash the Chocolate potatoes until smooth.

Using electric mixer , beat butter and sugar until fluffy , about 3 minutes. Beat eggs in one at a time . Reduce the mixer to low and mix the puree and melted cake chocolate until well blended . Alternately add flour mixture and milk, mixing until it is incorporated .

Spread mixture into prepared pan and bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean , 35 to 40 minutes. Cool the cake in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving and garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
